African Milling was born in 2010 with the goal of creating a market for the growing and emerging agricultural industry within the DRC’s Katanga province. We are suppliers of high quality sifted maize meal and we pride ourselves on our healthy ingredients, superior products and quality food. Through our commitment to continual innovation and investment in the technology we use we aim to provide high quality maize flour to every household in Katanga. We hope to exceed our customers’ expectations when it comes to quality, delivery, and cost and in doing so, we hope to become a trusted name in every home. We work towards becoming the premier food company by offering nutritious, superior tasting maize-meal to people everywhere. In this process we strive to help people around the province to eat healthier and live better. With our extensive knowledge and the support of our investors we hope to enhance the sufficiency of food utilisation, nutrition and food safety in the region.

Our motivation

Maize meal is a cornerstone of the global food system and is the third most widely cultivated cereal in the world after wheat and rice as a staple food in the human diet. Maize is a major source of energy, protein and other nutrients for humans. Millions of people depend on maize for their daily dietary needs. For many, it is the main source of protein in their diets. It is among the major cereals consumed in The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and is steadily growing in popularity as more locals increasingly consume more maize due to changes in eating habits. We are working towards becoming the best grain-based agribusiness company in Katanga. Above and beyond this we aspire to provide affordable and locally available maize meal for the entire region. The team at African Milling have a strong commitment to deliver improved nutrition to the region and to educate as many people as we can about the importance of good nutrition.
